NEW YORK (PIX11) — Showers will continue across the region through late Sunday morning, with most of the rain happening before 11 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.
Skies will gradually clear by the afternoon, with highs near 83 and winds shifting from the east to the southwest.
A flood advisory for parts of New York City and nearby counties is in effect until 8:30 a.m., with forecasters warning of minor flooding in low‑lying and poor‑drainage areas.
Areas under advisory include Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Nassau County, and Southern Westchester County.
Minor flooding is possible, especially in urban areas with poor drainage.
Additional rainfall of 0.5 to 1.5 inches is expected, which may worsen flooding.
