After 18 years, Ashbox Cafe (1154 Manhattan Ave.) has closed its doors. The beloved neighborhood staple stopped serving in July, but just recently confirmed the closure with an announcement on Instagram.
Ashbox Cafe served Japanese-leaning healthy fare for breakfast and lunch from owner, chef, and server, Yoko Kubo.
Kubo’s announcement about the closure mentioned her “worsening battle with arthritis,” stating that it was time for her to prioritize her health.
