It is with profound sadness that we share the loss of Robert M. Bridge, who passed away on August 20, 2026. Born on July 25, 1965, Robert was a remarkable individual who lived his life fully, passionately, and with a heart full of love. He was known for his great sense of humor that could light up any room and his ability to make friends with anyone he met, a testament to his warm personality and kind heart.
Robert was a dedicated and highly skilled elevator mechanic, employed with IUEC Local One. His talent went beyond his chosen career. He had a knack for rebuilding furniture, proving that he could repair and build anything with an impressive finesse. Robert was also a devoted animal lover, a history enthusiast, music lover, and a former bodybuilder who understood the importance of physical fitness. His love for life was infectious, and his contributions to the lives of those around him were significant and lasting. He was the beloved husband of Joanne Silvestro-Bridge, whom he met 36 years ago on the Staten Island Ferry. Theirs was a love story that began with immediate friendship and blossomed into a beautiful partnership, making them inseparable and the best of friends.
Robert is survived by his loving spouse, Joanne Silvestro-Bridge; his mother, Clementine Andriani Bridge; his sister, Lisa Bridge Moskie; brother-in-law, Phil Moskie; and nephews and niece, Michael, Andrea, and Christopher. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Bridge. His numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and the many friends he made over his lifetime will also remember him fondly.
Robert’s departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit, his laughter, and his love will forever be etched in our memories.
