HOMER, N.Y. — The driver of a water truck was hurt after a roll over crash on Monday morning.

The New York State Police said troopers responded to Interstate 81 in the Town of Homer for a report of a crash involving a commercial vehicle.

The state police found a water truck that had rolled off the road and down a slope. A preliminary investigation determined that the truck was headed north when one of its tires failed.

A 34-year-old driver of the truck was taken to SUNY Upstate Medical Center by ambulance for their injuries. The police did not reveal the severity of the injuries the driver has.

As of Monday, around 10:30 a.m., the right lane by mile marker 58.6 remains closed.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
