President Trump took to social media to post that because of the trade relationship with Canada right now that he is hinting of changing the name of Lake Ontario. The new name would be “Lake America”.
Lake Ontario is one of the five Great lakes and is one that is in between Canada and Western New York and very important.
It would not be the first time that President Trump changed the name of a body of water. Remember that he changed the official name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.

Why is Donald Trump threatening to change the name of one of the Great Lakes?
The reason that President Trump mentioned about changing the name of Lake Ontario is because of a threat of tariffs between the United States on Canada. Ontario Premier Doug Ford retaliated and said that if the US continues to impose tariffs that they would cut off electricity to the United States.
