Mayor Zohran Mamdani and the United States Tennis Association (USTA) announced Tuesday that 1,000 discounted tickets to the 2026 US Open will be made available for New York City residents.
The tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning on Wednesday at 10 a.m. ET at USOpen.org/NYCTickets. City residents can purchase up to two tickets at $100 each to main draw matches taking place from Sunday through Tuesday, Sept. 8.
That includes seats inside the Billie Jean King Tennis Center’s marquee buildings, including Arthur Ashe Stadium and Louis Armstrong Stadium.
For example, the lowest price for a ticket to Grandstand Session 1 on Sunday on StubHub currently sits at $361. The lowest ticket for Session 1 at Luis Armstrong Stadium on Sunday is $401.
“We want as many people as possible to experience tennis and the US Open, and this additional Main Draw ticket access for New Yorkers only strengthens that commitment,” USTA CEO Craig Tiley said. “The US Open already offers eight days of free grounds admission. Great crowds of fans and families are coming out to see the best players in the world practice up close, watch world-class competition with Qualifying and Mixed Doubles, and experience much more during our free-to-attend Fan Week. Access to tennis will always be our priority, and we’re proud to be able to deliver this Main Draw ticket offer to the residents of New York — the home of the US Open for more than 100 years.”
This is the second time that Mamdani has secured discounted tickets for New York City residents at prominent international sporting events here in the Big Apple. The Mayor made 1,000 discounted tickets available for World Cup matches held at MetLife Stadium earlier this summer.
“We have shown again and again that sports belong to the people,” Mamdani said. “From the World Cup to track and field championships, we have opened stadium doors to some of the biggest sporting events in the world so more New Yorkers can enjoy them. Today, we are doubling down on that work by making the US Open more affordable for New Yorkers. If the world’s best tennis players are coming to our city, New Yorkers should be able to see them play.”
The US Open is expected to draw over 1 million fans to Flushing this summer and generate approximately $1.2 billion in economic impact.
