“Kaleidoscope of US: Celebrating 250 Years of America” is located along the Greenway at Little West Street and 2nd Place. The installation uses symmetry created from multiple fragments to symbolize unity and the diversity of the American experience.
Designed by Dan Going of Northport, New York; Roberto Montenegro of Los Angeles; and Mitchel Lathrop of Covington, Indiana, the giant, primarily wooden kaleidoscope incorporates objects and symbols inspired by the artists’ regions. Birds, insects and marine life represent migration across the country.
