A suspect has been arrested after a week-long manhunt for wounding a labradoodle named Honey with a stray bullet in Brooklyn, police said Tuesday.
Adrian Benitez, 29, is accused of opening fire about 5:45 p.m. Aug. 19 as the 7-year-old dog and her owner, a 64-year-old woman, walked down 31st St. near Fifth Ave. in Greenwood Heights.

Police say Benitez fired a single shot at a man but missed and hit Honey.
Her owner, who was not hurt, took Honey home right away and family members then rushed the dog to a nearby veterinary clinic.

Honey, struck in the shoulder, is now home recovering.
Cops charged Benitez with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and aggravated cruelty to animals. His arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court was pending Tuesday.
Benitez lives in Sunset Park, according to cops. He has no prior criminal record, police said.
