The Broadway-premiere production of the world’s longest-running musical will play a 15-week limited engagement at the Hayes Theater with a newly revised story.

Second Stage Theater has set the complete cast for its fall production of The Fantasticks on Broadway, playing at the Hayes Theater for 15 weeks only starting October 22. Opening night is November 16.

The Fantasticks Broadway cast includes Maxim Chlumecky (Appropriate, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) as The Boy (Matt), Tony Award nominee Kevin del Aguila (Some Like It Hot, Frozen) as The Man Who Dies (Mortimer), David Patrick Kelly (Once, Warriors) as The Old Actor (Henry), Tony nominee Leslie Rodriguez Kritzer (Spamalot, Beetlejuice) as Matt’s Mother (Mildred Hucklebee), Nathan Levy (& Juliet, Aladdin) as The Boy (Lewis), Tony winner Ruthie Ann Miles (Sweeney Todd, The King and I) as Lewis’s Mother (Bessie Mae Bellomy), Zane Phillips (The Comeback, Fire Island) in his Broadway debut as The Narrator (El Gallo), and Ahmad Simmons (Illinoise, Hadestown) as The Mute.

With a book and lyrics by Tom Jones and music by Harvey Schmidt, The Fantasticks follows two moms who hatch a plan to make their sons fall in love. The Broadway-premiere production is a reimagined version of the celebrated Off-Broadway show that holds the record as the world’s longest-running musical.

Tony nominee Christopher Gattelli (Schmigadoon!, Death Becomes Her, Newsies) directs and choreographs. The Fantasticks also has scenic design by Jason Sherwood, costume design by Linda Cho, lighting design by Jen Schriever, sound design by Nevin Steinberg, music supervision and orchestrations by Sam Davis, and music direction by Rick Hip-Flores.
