The crash happened on Pinebrook Boulevard near Beechmont Drive in New Rochelle around midnight on Tuesday, Aug. 25, according to the New Rochelle Police Department.
Officers responding to the scene found that a motorcycle traveling north on Pinebrook Boulevard had left the roadway and struck a metal bollard surrounding an electrical utility box, police said.
The driver, a 27-year-old New Rochelle resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not released pending notification of his family.
An 18-year-old male passenger suffered minor injuries and was treated by emergency medical personnel, police added.
