Harry Styles paid tribute to Dolly Parton on night 1 of his Madison Square Garden residency.
The pop idol’s 30-night residency is sold out.
The shows are Styles’ only U.S. dates this year on his Together, Together tour.
Harry Styles used the first night of his sold-out 30-night residency at New York City’s Madison Square Garden to pay tribute to Dolly Parton, who died Tuesday at 80.
Entertainment Weekly was on hand to witness the historic opening night and see Styles break from his set to play Parton’s “I Will Always Love You,” directing a sing-along with the audience in tribute to the country legend.
“Sing it out, people,” he told fans.
The shows are Styles’ only U.S. dates this year on his Together, Together tour. The “As It Was” singer has already taken his tour to international cities, such as Amsterdam, London, Mexico City, and São Paulo. He is next scheduled to visit Sydney and Melbourne in December.
