NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — A travel advisory has been issued in New York City for parts of Thursday as a cold front moves into the region, bringing the potential for flash floods and severe thunderstorms.
The advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and a flood watch will take effect starting at noon.

Officials say there is a chance of localized heavy rain, which could flood streets, highways, and underpasses. Residents are advised to limit travel during severe weather and to never drive or walk through floodwaters.
The inclement weather should dissipate on Friday, as the cold front drifts offshore.
