GREENVILLE, Wis. (WFRV) — A special Missions of Honor flight took off the morning of August 27, heading to New York City with over 70 northeast Wisconsin veterans.

The veterans of the global war on terror officially left for the Freedom to Liberty retreat, which will take place over this weekend.
The retreat aims to provide healing and connection to the veterans over the multi-day trip.
The veterans’ stops include the Statue of Liberty, the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, and the Freedom Tower.
“We’ll be taking 72 Global War on Terrorism veterans to see their memorial, as well as visit some of the sites in New York City,” explained Diane MacDonald, the Missions of Honor Executive Director.
“We’ll be coupled with many, many special guests, which include Colonel Allison Black, Medal of Honor recipient David Bellavia, as well as 9/11 survivors.”
The veterans will return to the cheese state on Sunday.
