FLORAL PARK, N.Y. — The Queens County Farm Museum is thrilled to announce that Corn Fest is back! Our fun-filled, corn-themed day on Sunday, August 30, celebrate the grand opening of the Amazing Maize Maze sponsored by Con Edison. This family-friendly event will take place 10am–2pm at the historic farm located at 73-50 Little Neck Parkway in Floral Park, NY. Corn Fest will be jam packed with a-maize-ing activities, games, and food that will delight visitors of all ages. The maze will be open for its first explorers with ticketed access; festival activities are free.

This year, the Amazing Maize Maze celebrates America’s 250th! America’s story was shaped not only in legislative halls and on battlefields, but also in fields, farmhouses and communities where ordinary people worked, adapted and endured.

The statue’s arm and torch were displayed in Madison Square Parkduring America’s Centennial in 1876 to inspire public support. Ten years later, on October 28, 1886, the completed Statue of Liberty was dedicated in New York Harbor. During the celebration, people in nearby officebuildings showered the parade below with strips of paper, helping launch New York City’s famous ticker-tape parade tradition. As you make your way through the Amazing Maize Maze, you are traveling through more than corn. You are exploring a story of revolution and liberty, struggle and survival, and a farm that has kept growing through it all.

Corn Fest will be an ear-resistible day of fun, learning, and community celebration as the farm kicks off its iconic fall event season. Guests will have a unique opportunity to experience the charm and history of the Queens County Farm Museum while enjoying all things corn. And that’s just the beginning! The Amazing Maize Maze will remain open Saturdays & Sundays, August 30 to November 1.

The three acre adventure winds through towering stalks of corn and culminates in victory bridge, where maze-goers are treated to a scenic overlook to celebrate their completion. Clues, puzzles and fun facts help guests complete a gameboard that will reveal their best route along the way. Flags keep guests visible in the maze at all times and help them communicate with the Mazemasters from the sprawling field. Maze by Moonlight offers guests a chance to navigate the massive corn field under the night sky. Additional highlights of the fall season include the Pumpkin Patch, Queens Agricultural Fair and Halloween on the Farm.
