A man is in custody for allegedly threatening a woman at gunpoint in Brooklyn Park early Friday morning.
According to the Brooklyn Park Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of 83rd Court North at 12:51 a.m. for a report of an assault involving a firearm.
The victim told police the suspect had placed a handgun to her head and threatened her. Officers responded and located the suspect at his residence, where he was taken into custody.
Evidence of the assault was reportedly found at the scene of the assault, and a handgun was recovered at the suspect’s residence following the execution of a search warrant.
The incident resulted in an extended police presence in the area. According to police, there are no other suspects in the case and the investigation remains ongoing.
