Brooklyn Center Police said the two girls were traveling on a minibike at around 3 p.m. when they were struck by a vehicle.

BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. — One girl is dead and another is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while riding on a minibike Thursday afternoon near Centennial Park in Brooklyn Center.

Brooklyn Center Police said the two girls, both under the age of 10, were traveling east on 63rd Avenue North around 3 p.m. when they were struck by a vehicle near Brooklyn Drive. Emergency first responders administered CPR, and both were transported to North Memorial, where one girl was pronounced dead. 

Police say the driver is cooperating, but they’re still investigating what led up to the crash.
