Beak and Skiff Apple Orchards just got a lot more kid-friendly.
The Apple Grove Adventure Park, a six-acre lot near the front of the venue, costs Beak and Skiff president Eddie Brennan $1 million and climbing. He said it will be well worth it.
“Opening up an adventure park has been a huge, huge deal for us over the years,” Brennan said. “We wanted to create a destination where families could come, go apple picking, hang out in the adventure park and then go do all the adult activities.”
“It owns up to that billboard sign that it had posted up,” said park-goer Tirika Kennon. “Opening day is beautiful.”
Kennon brought her grandchild and two adult friends with her, and this was her very first time at the orchard.
“My grandbaby really loved milking the cow,” Kennon said, laughing heartily. “You’d never believe it. That’s the one that made him smile.”
“It’s really a smorgasbord of everything we’ve ever seen [at other parks],” Brennan said. “Every year we’re going to add new things. Obviously this year is a real test run for us to see what people really gravitate towards.”

The joy of kids is one of the main reasons Brennan opened up the park, and his own kids have tested it out to great success.
“By far the last year has been the most fun I’ve ever had here,” Brennan said. “Hopefully when people come here, they feel that and this is such a magical place.”
Weekend admission to the park costs $20 per person and is free for kids two or younger. Staff said the park will likely be open until early December.
