Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds made their first public appearance after a new ruling in their legal drama against Justin Baldoni.

The couple was spotted stepping out with Lively’s sister Robyn on August 28.

Just two days earlier, a judge ruled that Lively will receive just a fraction of the $8 million she requested in legal fees and other expenses from Baldoni.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds leaned on loved ones as they stepped out in New York City together on August 28, marking their first public outing since they received a disappointing conclusion to their nearly two-year-long legal drama with Justin Baldoni.

Just two days earlier, a judge ruled that the Gossip Girl alum will receive just a fraction of the over $8 million sum she requested in legal fees and other expenses from her former It Ends With Us co-star.

In photos shared by the Daily Mail on August 31, Lively embraced her signature California boho style in a black bandeau paired with oversized caramel brown overalls as she joined Reynolds and her sister Robyn. The 39-year-old, who styled her golden-highlighted mermaid waves in a deep side part, accessorized with a chunky gold chain link necklace and a pair of black leather loafer-style slippers.

Meanwhile, Reynolds went preppy in a short-sleeved white T-shirt layered with a sleeveless light gray knit sweater vest, a pair of black slacks, and a gray newsboy cap.

According to an order obtained by the Daily Mail on Wednesday, Judge Lewis Liman ruled that Lively would receive only $400,000 of the over $8 million sum that she sought from Baldoni after they settled their case out of court on May 4. Per the publication, Judge Liman determined that Lively will receive $363,245.40 in attorneys’ fees as well as $44,206.35 in other expenses related to defending herself against Baldoni’s lawsuit.

Judge Liman previously dismissed Baldoni’s $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively in June 2025, and later threw out many of Lively’s claims alleging sexual harassment and retaliation against Baldoni. However, he ruled that she could seek legal damages in the court battle.

Lively and Reynolds have yet to publicly comment on the case’s latest update, but as the ruling came in on August 26, the Deadpool actor shared a rare social media tribute to his wife as he celebrated her 39th birthday.

“August 25th is this family’s Super Bowl,” Reynolds captioned a photo dump of Lively, which showed behind-the-scenes moments of the mom-of-four with her children and her husband. He continued, “Happy Birthday to the very best human I know. You’re not just another courageous and deeply kind genius. You’re also unreasonably cute. I know how lucky I am that you were born. Every time I’ve ever hit my head, it’s YOUR life that flashes before my eyes.”
