Police are on the hunt for a woman who attempted to kidnap a young child inside a Manhattan subway station over the summer.
According to police sources, the incident occurred at about 12:30 p.m. on July 29 inside the Inwood-207 Street stop on the A line.
Law enforcement sources said the female suspect approached a young mother and her 6-year-old daughter from behind as they passed through the turnstile. The perpetrator grabbed the child’s arm and attempted to pull the girl away.
Cops said the mother screamed at the woman and was able to yank her daughter through the turnstile, separating them.

The suspect fled the station on a southbound A train, but not before the mother was able to snap a photo of her. The image was subsequently provided to the 34th Precinct and NYPD Transit District 3.
Police described the suspect as standing about five feet two inches and last seen wearing a blue hat, sunglasses, and a white and black shirt.
