Tennis fans from all over the world will head to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows Corona Park to watch the U.S. Open Main Draw from August 30 through September 13, and thanks to a special kiosk, they’ll learn about the host borough’s tourism attractions.
Since 2011, the USTA has donated a kiosk to serve as an information-and-referral center during the entire Grand Slam tennis championship. The Queens Tourism Council, a division of the Queens Economic Development Corporation, provides trained volunteer staffers who dispense information on the best local restaurants, hotels, cultural organizations, and recreational opportunities.
It’s located between the two biggest tennis courts – Arthur Ashe and Louis Armstrong – just south of the Octagon. Fans are encouraged to visit it.
