Off-Broadway’s immersive Phantom of the Opera experience Masquerade has unmasked new cast members joining the production, currently playing a multi-extended run through January 31, 2027, at 218 West 57th Street (formerly Lee’s Art Shop).
Modeled after the seminal immersive production Sleep No More, Masquerade seeks to plant audiences right into the plot of Gaston Leroux‘s The Phantom of the Opera—of course, within the lens of Lloyd Webber’s long-running 1986 West End-Broadway musical. Once you have entered the Opera House, you trace the steps of the infamous Opera Ghost, who has been terrorizing the theatre’s performers and management. As the story unfolds, you learn of the Opera Ghost’s mentorship over Christine Daae—a young soprano who has become the object of his obsession.
The inventive new staging plays to six audience groups of about 60 people every evening, meaning the complete cast features more leads than the show did on Broadway.

Newly joining the company are Travis Keith Battle as Raoul, Nick Cartell as Phantom, Joe Caskey as Raoul, and Noah Lytle as Young Phantom, along with ensemblists Jordan Goodsell and Annie Sherman. Re-joining the company are Addie Morales as Christine and Phumzile Sojola as Pinagi.
Cartell will share the role of the Phantom with Quentin Earl Darrington, Derrick Davis, Kyle Scatliffe, Ryan Vona, and Nik Walker. Battle shares Raoul with Joe Caskey and Dan Hoy. Morales shares the role of Christine with Haile Ferrier, Claire Leyden, Francesca Mehrotra, Riley Noland, and Kaley Ann Voorhees.
The cast also includes Mark Banik as Firman, Matthew Curiano as Andre, Satomi Hofmann as Carlotta and Giry, Kody Jauron as Young Phantom, Tia Karaplis as Giry and Carlotta, Jacob Lacopo as Buquet, Georgia Mendes as Meg, Betsy Morgan as Carlotta and Giry, Liz Pearce as Giry, Cooper Stanton as Buquet, Jeremy Stolle as Firmin, Sean Seamus Thompson as Piangi, and Kevin Zambrano as Young Phantom, along with Sydney Alie, Laura Lee Anderson, Milena Comeau, Artie Dibble, Gabriella Enriquez, Bryan Hernandez-Luch, Joseph Kerr, Anna Monoxide, Charles Osborne, and Chris Ryan. Covers and swings Lee H. Alexander, Courtney Balan, Annelise Baker, Baby Burns, Jacob Burns, Saman De Silva, Nicole J. Ferguson, Nicole J. Tony winner Diane Paulus (Waitress, 1776) leads a creative team that includes Hunter Bird, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Kathy Fabian, James Fluhr, Jessie Flynn, Nicola Formichetti, Skylar Fox, Kate Lumpkin, J. J. Janas, Brett Jarvis, Marc Kimelman, Lee McCutcheon, Scott Pask, Emilio Sosa, Gypsy Snider, Ben Stanton, and William Waldrop.
Attendees of the production are given instructions from “their host,” which includes a dress code advising patrons dress “extravagantly” in black, white, or silver and to wear a masquerade mask (if you do not have one, one will be provided) and to avoid wearing high heels to facilitate safe walking in the building’s recreation of the Paris catacombs.
