THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) — A 36-year-old man was slashed in the head while riding an MTA bus early Friday morning, according to the NYPD.

The incident happened around 5:44 a.m.

Police say the victim was on a BX22 bus. The suspect was last seen fleeing on foot towards the Castle Hill station.

Sources say there was a dispute prior to the stabbing.

EMS responded and transported the victim to a local hospital in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing. No other information was immediately available.
