A city traffic cop was slugged in the face after ticketing a car on a Bronx street, and cops are asking for the public’s help in hunting down the puncher and his accomplice.
The NYPD traffic enforcement agent was issuing a parking summons to a Jeep on Davidson Ave. near W. 177 St. in Morris Heights around 12 p.m. on Aug. 28 when the woman who owned the car and a man approached him.
The man punched the cop in the face before running off, heading north toward W. 177 St., police said. The woman jumped into her Jeep and sped off.
Medics brought the traffic enforcement agent, who suffered minor injuries, to a local hospital for treatment.
Police on Friday released surveillance photos of the suspects, who both remain on the loose.
The slugger, described as a man with a dark complexion and a mustache, standing at 5 feet 8 and weighing about 150 pounds, was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with orange writing on the chest and left arm, gray sneakers, and carrying a black drawstring bag.
The woman, also described as having a dark complexion and standing at 5 feet 8 inches, weighs roughly 180 pounds. She was last seen wearing a multicolored headscarf, a black shirt with green writing, gray pants, and white sneakers.
