SHEEPSHEAD BAY, Brooklyn (PIX11) — A teen was busted after allegedly bringing a gun to football practice in Brooklyn on Friday, according to police.

The incident happened at around 2:50 p.m. at the Frank J. Macchiarola Educational Complex, which was formerly known as Sheepshead Bay High School.

Sources tell PIX11 that the 17-year-old man allegedly had a loaded automatic pistol that was in his bookbag when he went through a metal detector at the school. 

The teen struggled with the agent to try to retrieve the bookbag before fleeing, according to sources. The security agent was able to hold on to the gun.

No one was hurt in the incident, according to police.
