When was the last time you volunteered?
Maybe it was when you invited someone who needed a place for Shabbos. Or gave a neighbor a ride.
Or watched someone’s children, visited a friend in the hospital, helped carry groceries, gave tzedakah, or simply noticed someone needed a hand and stepped in.
You probably didn’t call it volunteering…
You just helped.
And that’s exactly the idea behind Friendship Circle Brooklyn’s upcoming Volunteer/Revolution campaign: to turn that same instinct to give into the financial support that makes its work possible.
Volunteering isn’t limited to signing up for a program or wearing a Friendship Circle T-shirt. It happens every day, in countless ways, whenever someone chooses to give their time, talent, resources, generosity, or heart to another person.
Throughout the campaign, Friendship Circle is inviting the community to answer one simple question:
How do you Volunteer/Revolution?
For some, the answer is their Sundays.
For others, it’s their talents, connections, or energy.
And today, Friendship Circle is asking the community to answer in one more way: with a financial contribution.
Every donation helps fund the friendships, programs, and family support Friendship Circle provides throughout the year, helping build a community where every child has a place to belong.
The goal isn’t to turn Crown Heights into a community of volunteers.
It already is one.
The goal is to recognize it, celebrate it, and channel that spirit of generosity into the resources Friendship Circle needs to continue its work.
Because when hundreds of individual acts of kindness come together, they become something much bigger.
They become a Volunteer Revolution.
