Dallas, T.X. (September 5, 2026) — Brooklyn FC Women lost 3-0 to Dallas Trinity FC despite a better performance in the second half. Coach Alex Smith started an unchanged starting lineup after a positive outing last week against Fort Lauderdale United.
Dallas got out to a quick start as forward Onyeka Gamero hit the crossbar in just the 3rd minute of the match.
Brooklyn’s high press consistently created difficulties for the Trinity defenders, with the biggest chance coming in the 6th minute. Forward Carlee Giammona made an interception in the Dallas final third that left her one-on-one with their goalkeeper, but was unable to convert the chance.
In the 8th minute, Gamero was able to get the first goal for Dallas, as a cross was redirected and found her alone at the back post for an easy tap-in.
Brooklyn goalkeeper Bre Norris made a big save at her near post in the 25th minute to keep the score at 1-0. However, Dallas doubled their lead just three minutes later. Another cross from the right side found forward Seven Castain in the middle of the pitch, who made it 2-0 to Dallas.
Brooklyn forward Zee King scored a pair of goals on either side of halftime, but both were ruled out as she was offside, the first being created again from the Brooklyn press.
Brooklyn were much better in the second half, creating chances and controlling much more of the possession. Nevertheless, the goals would not come for the team, and Dallas eventually scored in the 88th minute to make it 3-0.
