MANHATTAN (PIX11) — A 23‑year‑old man was slashed in the face and torso Saturday night near an office building on Seventh Avenue, according to police.
He was taken to a local hospital, where he is in stable condition and expected to recover, authorities said.
Police said the suspect is on the run and was last seen heading southbound while wearing a beige sweater.
Officials are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have cellphone video or surveillance footage, to contact investigators or Crime Stoppers.
The attack comes as police continue investigating a series of violent incidents in Times Square and across the city.
Earlier this week, a woman stabbed two people in Times Square, killing 32‑year‑old Erin Piacenti, a Bank of America executive from New Jersey, and seriously injuring a 68‑year‑old man, according to officials.
The suspect has been identified as 49‑year‑old Pamela Cisneros of Queens. She was shot and killed by NYPD officers after police said she advanced toward them and refused to drop the knives.
In a separate incident, police shot and killed a man who was carrying a knife and was walking on the cables of the Brooklyn Bridge early Friday morning. Police said the officers tried to help the man climb down before it all happened.
Officials said the man ignored orders to drop the weapon before he was fatally shot.
