A 58-year-old man was fatally struck by an MTA driver when he stumbled into the side of a bus in Brooklyn, cops said Sunday.
The B44 driver was headed south on Nostrand Ave. in Flatbush and pulling into a bus stop near Clarendon Road when the victim stepped off the sidewalk about 8:15 p.m. Saturday, cops said.
A source familiar with the incident said the bus had been stopped for about 30 seconds when the man, who appeared to witnesses as unsteady and possibly intoxicated, approached it. The rear door was closed by the time he got there.

Th victim made contact with the bus and was struck, cops said.
Though the man can be seen on surveillance video approaching the bus stop, it’s not clear if he was somehow clipped or snagged by the moving bus or if he simply fell before being run over by its rear tire, the source said.
Medics took him to Kings County Hospital but he could not be saved.
The 43-year-old bus driver kept going on her route, unaware she had hit anyone, cops said.
Cops were still investigating the crash Sunday. Police have not yet released the victim’s name.
