Nicola Peltz Beckham thanked her husband, Brooklyn Beckham, for always believing in her as she accepted a new acting honor in Venice.
The 31-year-old received the Rising Star Award at the Kinéo Awards on September 5. The independent ceremony took place in Venice during the city’s international film festival, although Kinéo is a separate event rather than part of the festival’s official awards program.
Nicola included Brooklyn alongside her parents, Claudia and Nelson Peltz, and brothers Diesel and Brad while thanking the family members who have supported her career. “You always believe in me,” she told them. “To have your support is the reason I can reach to the stars in the first place.”
Brooklyn, 27, was in Venice to support his wife and accompanied her through the celebrations. Nicola’s public thanks came months after he confirmed a serious estrangement from his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, while making clear that his marriage remained central to his decision to distance himself.
Nicola Said Her Family Helps Her ‘Reach to the Stars’
Nicola began the speech by admitting that standing in front of an audience as herself felt less comfortable than performing as a character. She asked the crowd to “please bear with me” before thanking Kinéo for the honor.
She then turned to her family. “My family are my everything,” Nicola said before naming her mother, father, Diesel, Brad and Brooklyn. Her message to the group was simple: “You always believe in me.”
The Kinéo organization officially named Nicola as its 2026 Rising Star recipient. The award was presented during Kinéo’s 25th edition, which the organization describes as a collateral event held alongside the Venice International Film Festival.
She Also Thanked ‘Prima’ Costar Faye Dunaway
Nicola used part of the speech to recognize Faye Dunaway, who received Kinéo’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the same ceremony. “Faye, you have always been an inspiration to me, and learning with you has been incredible,” Nicola said.
The two worked together on the upcoming ballet drama Prima. Nicola plays Margo, a dedicated ballerina raised by her strict grandmother, played by Dunaway. The cast also includes Mira Sorvino, Jack Huston and Betty Gabriel.
Kinéo cited Nicola’s increasingly varied work as an actress, writer and producer when announcing the Rising Star honor. She developed the original idea behind Prima, while Luca and Alessandro Morelli directed the film.
Brooklyn Joined Nicola Throughout Her Venice Weekend
Brooklyn accompanied Nicola during the Venice celebrations, including a red carpet appearance where the couple posed together and shared a kiss. Nicola wore a dramatic violet Balenciaga gown for one of their festival appearances, while Brooklyn chose a black tuxedo.
The couple have repeatedly supported one another publicly during the past year. Brooklyn appeared in Nicola’s behind the scenes material from Prima and praised the film after a private screening earlier this year.
They married in Palm Beach, Florida, in April 2022. Their Venice appearance came several months after Brooklyn publicly described the breakdown of his relationship with his parents and said he did not want to reconcile with them.
The Speech Did Not Address the Beckham Family Rift
Nicola did not mention David Beckham, Victoria Beckham or Brooklyn’s siblings while thanking her family. Her remarks centered on her own parents, Diesel, Brad and her husband.
Brooklyn made the family dispute public in January when he accused his parents of interfering in his marriage, attempting to control public narratives and disrespecting Nicola. He said he had no interest in reconciliation. David and Victoria have not publicly answered each allegation individually.
Nicola did not use her Kinéo speech to revisit those accusations. She kept her remarks focused on the award, Dunaway and the relatives she credited with supporting her work.
