Patrick Clancy stepped out in public for the first time since his ex-wife Lindsay Clancy‘s murder trial ended in a mistrial, with the family still facing the prospect of going through it all again.

According to photos obtained by the New York Post, Patrick, 38, was photographed on Sunday, September 6, walking through Midtown Manhattan.

The outing came days after he was seen in New York with his current wife, infertility specialist Rachel Danis.

A mistrial was declared on Friday, September 4, in the case against Lindsay, 36, who was accused of killing their three young children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, at their home in January 2023.

As Globe previously reported, Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial after seven days of deliberations when jurors could not reach a unanimous decision. Lindsay’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, has said he expects prosecutors to pursue another trial.

The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office has not yet announced whether it will pursue a retrial, according to ABC affiliate WCVB.

According to Fox News, A retrial could put Patrick back on the witness stand after he gave emotional testimony in July about his family and Lindsay’s mental health in the months before the January 2023 tragedy.

Patrick is also pursuing a separate lawsuit against Lindsay’s doctors and medical providers, alleging they failed to properly diagnose and treat her before the deaths of their three children.

Following the mistrial, Patrick’s attorney, David Meier, acknowledged how painful the prospect of another trial would be.

“The loss of Patrick’s children is something from which he will never recover and from which there will never be closure,” the statement obtained by TMZ read.

“The prospect of reliving this tragedy through another trial is extraordinarily painful — for Patrick, for his family, and for all of us.”

Just days after the tragedy, Patrick issued an emotional statement through the family’s GoFundMe, forgiving Lindsay and writing, “I want to ask all of you that you find it deep within yourselves to forgive Lindsay, as I have.”
