REDDING, Calif. — What began as a childhood hobby is now taking a 19-year-old Redding model to one of fashion’s biggest stages.
Ozzy Post-Deavers is headed to New York Fashion Week, where she will walk in her first runway show.
Post-Deavers began modeling at age 10 with Steampunk Wolf. Nearly a decade later, she is traveling to New York with the same company for the milestone event.

The shows will be produced by House of Nova, which focuses on promoting confidence and inclusion in the modeling industry — a mission Post-Deavers said strongly resonates with her.
She said that they show you don’t need to have a Barbie-like figure to be a model. “You can be whatever, and you are still beautiful no matter what you look like,” said Deavers.
Deavers began modeling to boost her own confidence and said she is excited to represent that message on the runway.
She said she also hopes her experience shows other young people that you don’t have to be from a big city to do big things. As a Redding native herself she hopes she can show other young kids dreaming big, that opportunities happen in small places too.

While in New York, Deavers will be representing Steampunk Wolf along with One of One Collection, Fin Fantale Fashion, Maria Wings, and others, all of which are being produced by House of Nova.
She heads to New York on the ninth and will be walking on the runway on Saturday, Sept. 12.
