Full casting has been found for the upcoming Off-Broadway return of Going Bacharach: The Songs of an Icon, a theatrical revue focused on the song catalogue of Burt Bacharach. The production will again play The Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater beginning September 9, for a 12-week engagement opening September 16.
Newly revealed for the cast are Meecah (Hamilton), Julia Danielle Smulson, and Alyssa Wray (American Idol), joining the previously announced Hilary Kole (Our Sinatra), John Pagano, and show co-creator Adrian Galante, all reprising their work from the earlier Off-Broadway run; and Ava Locknar, a veteran of the production’s Chicago engagement. Vocalists will perform on a rotating schedule
Tony-winning lyricist David Zippel (City of Angels, Hercules) will return to direct. The show is co-created by Will Friedwald, Galante, Tedd Firth, and Jack Lewin, who also conceived the project. Among the songs featured from the Promises, Promises composer are such favorites as “Do You Know the Way to San Jose?,” “What’s New Pussycat?,” “That’s What Friends Are For,” and more. Arrangements, orchestrations, and music direction are by Galante, with Firth serving as musical supervisor.
The production also features scenic design by Christopher and Justin Swader, costume design by Frank Cazares, and lighting and sound design by Matt Berman. Ian McQueen will serve as production stage manager, and Peter F. Feuchtwanger is production supervisor. Visceral Entertainment is general managing.
