Local 32BJ SEIU, which represents doormen and other building workers, announced a plan to expand its 20,000 city security division to 70,000 by 2028.
Manny Pastreich, the president of 32BJ SEIU, and Pedro Francisco and Yvette Cumberbatch, two security officer advocates, joined “Inside City Hall” to discuss more.
Francisco and Cumberbatch also worked as security officers at the World Trade Center in 2001, and they shared their stories of the Sept. 11 attacks.
The union lost 24 members from the attacks.
