This week on Nation’s Restaurant News, the top story was “New York City’s Los Tacos No. 1 nabs private-equity investment.” Los Tacos No. 1 — the Tijuana-style taco brand that got its start in 2013 at a stand in New York City’s Chelsea Market — announced it received a strategic investment from private-equity firm TSG Consumer. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed, and it is unknown if TSG Consumer will act as a majority or minority investor in the emerging brand.

In other news, 7 Brew got the closed Salad and Go sites it really wanted, but they’re coming at a hefty price. The drive-thru coffee chain won the bidding for a large group of sites once used by the now-bankrupt salad chain, but only after rival Dutch Bros opted not to increase its previous, $105 million bid for the locations.

Also, Food hall/delivery company Wonder is laying off 7% of its staff in an effort to streamline its business ahead of a planned IPO. The cuts will affect about 150 workers companywide, according to a person familiar with the decision.
