WAWARSING, N.Y. — Four people were arrested on charges in connection with an incident in which a man was struck with a baseball bat, according to state police.
In a press release, state police from Ellenville went to the Mobil station at 8404 U.S. Route 209 at about 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, for a report of multiple people fighting. The investigation indicated that several people assaulted a 43-year-old man with a baseball bat, according to the release. The man was transported to Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, the release added.
Troopers arrested four people and transported them to the state police barracks in Ellenville for processing without incident, authorities said. Arrested were:
* Jordan I. Jones, 19, of Ellenville, on charges of assault and attempted gang assault, both felonies, and criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.
* Amanda M. Jones, 40, of Ellenville, on charges of assault and attempted gang assault, both felonies, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
* Matthew Johannessen, 24, of Ellenville, on charges of assault, attempted gang assault and criminal possession of a weapon, all felonies, and criminal mischief, a misdemeanor.
* An unidentified 16-year-old male, from Ellenville on charges of assault and attempted gang assault, both felonies, and criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.
All four were arraigned at Ulster County Court Centralized Arraignment Part and remanded to Ulster County Jail pending future court appearances, state police said, adding that the investigation is ongoing.
