Baseball bat attack at Mobil gas station sends 43-year-old to hospital; 4 arrested

Wawarsing, NY (WRGB) — A fight at a Wawarsing Mobil gas station escalated into a baseball bat assault that sent a 43-year-old man to the hospital and led to four arrests.

On Sept. 8, 2026, at about 9 a.m., troopers from New York State Police Ellenville responded to the Mobil gas station on Route 209 for a report of multiple people fighting. Investigators determined several individuals assaulted the 43-year-old male victim with a baseball bat.

The victim was taken to Garnet Medical Health Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

New York State Police said all four individuals were transported to State Police Ellenville for processing without incident.

All four were arraigned in Ulster County Court Centralized Arraignment Part and remanded to the Ulster County Jail pending a future court appearance.
