The NYC Bar Association held its 34th annual Henry L. Stimson Medal Presentation on Sept. 9, honoring four assistant U.S. attorneys from the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
The 2026 recipients were Michael Maimin and Brandon Matthew Waterman of the Southern District, and Michael Blume and David Pitluck of the Eastern District. The event included welcoming remarks from Richard P. Donoghue of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, a presentation by City Bar President Matthew Diller and remarks from U.S. District Judge John P. Cronan.
Diller thanked the four awardees for their hard work and for gathering at the celebration.
“Representing the people of the United States is particularly challenging in our polarized times, when the people are so divided,” Diller told the crowd at the event. “So I think at this moment it is particularly important to gather and celebrate the many Assistant US Attorneys who, day in and day out, do the people’s work with the highest standards of excellence and integrity to make our city and nation safe and our democracy stronger, and serve president after president, whether Demorcat or Republican, liberal or conservative with the same superb skills and integrity.”
The medal honors Henry L. Stimson, a former U.S. attorney and City Bar president.
