USC men’s basketball faces the Manhattan Jaspers in the Trojans’ second game of the 2025-2026 college basketball season. USC won very comfortably against Cal Poly in its first game. The Trojans will try to do something similar in their second game. ‘
The incentives for playing tough nonconference games are not high in college hoops right now. It is generally felt within the industry that teams should try to blow out inferior competition as a way to push up their NET ranking. Playing road or neutral games against good teams only seems to invite the possibility of losing. Eric Musselman is scheduling accordingly, hoping the math adds up for USC.
