Tashanna Golden is running for a countywide Civil Court judge seat in Staten Island. Raised in public housing, she grew up in West Brighton Houses and heard Civil Rights Movement stories from her grandmother. Those stories, especially about lawyers, helped shape her path from Staten Island classrooms to law school. She attended PS 18, Prall Intermediate School, Susan Wagner High School, and St. John’s University. Golden later worked at legal firms, then at Legal Services NYC’s Staten Island office helping tenants facing eviction. In 2022, she joined Staten Island’s Housing Court bench and says she wants every person to feel seen and heard.
