A special screening was held in Midtown for the release of an emotional new film about the last person pulled out alive from the rubble of the World Trade Center.
The cast and crew lined the red carpet at the Whitby Hotel.
It was the premiere of “Robin Roberts Presents: Angel in the Rubble: The Genelle Guzman Story.”
The story recounts the extraordinary, real-life survival of New York City transit worker Genelle Guzman, who was working in the north tower when the planes hit.
After the building collapsed, she became trapped under the rubble for 27 hours.
As Guzman fought to stay alive, she prayed to be rescued.
Her prayers were answered when a man named Paul found her. He remained by her side until rescuers pulled her to safety.
When Guzman later searched for Paul to thank him, no one could confirm if he was ever there. Leading her to believe he was an angel sent to save her.
“Angel in the Rubble” airs Saturday evening on Lifetime.
