Ashraf Abdallah, 38, of Albany, was pulled over for vehicle and traffic violations on Friday, Aug. 28 around 8:30 p.m. on Interstate 87 northbound, New York State Police said.

After the stop, investigators found nearly six pounds of marijuana inside Abdallah’s 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee, authorities said.

Abdallah was booked for felony second-degree cannabis possession and the traffic violations, state troopers said. He was released on appearance tickets and is due back in Albany City Court on Monday, Sept. 28.
