On Thursday afternoon, Clinton girls’ tennis faced the hosting Spartans at the Forrest Grove Elementary Tennis Complex. Heading into the contest, both teams were undefeated. But the River Queens fell just short, 6-3.
Clinton’s only singles victory came from No. 1 sophomore Tenley Cewe, who defeated her opponent 2-0 (6-5, 7-1). Senior Elizabeth Grinall and eighth-grader Taedyn Cewe stole the No. 2 doubles match 1-0 (8-6), and the pair are now 13-0 on the season.
