Detectives in Brooklyn are looking for the suspect who shot two men dead inside a playground on Friday night.
Police said the bloodshed occurred just before 10:25 p.m. on Sept. 11 inside the Howard Playground, located at the corner of Mother Gaston Boulevard and Glenmore Avenue, within the Howard Houses public housing complex, in Brownsville.
Officers from the 73rd Precinct and NYPD Public Service Area 2 rushed to the scene after being alerted to shots fired inside the playground. When they arrived, they found two victims: a 33-year-old man shot in the neck, and a 35-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his chest and ankle.
The motive for the shooting remains unknown at this time. Police sources said Saturday that the suspected shooter — a man seen wearing a dark red hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants and black sneakers — was last seen fleeing on foot northbound along Mother Gaston Boulevard.

EMS rushed the 33-year-old man to Interfaith Medical Center, and the 35-year-old man to Brookdale University Hospital. Both were pronounced dead a short time later. Police have not yet released their identities, pending family notification.
So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation.

The 73rd Precinct had five homicides year-to-date through Sept. 6, up from three at the same point in 2025. However, shootings in the command had fallen from 23 last year to 18 this year, a 21.7% decrease.
