WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – Five deaths, 253 DWI arrests, and 632 crashes happened in New York over Labor Day weekend this year.
New York State Police released the numbers as part of a special enforcement which began on September 4th and ended September 7th.
In the North Country, 776 tickets were dolled out. Seven people were arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, and 269 of those tickets were for speeding.
A total of 11,201 tickets were issued across the state, an increase over last year when police issued 9,912 tickets.
