Two men, 70 and 65 years old, were injured during a shooting in Concourse Village on Sunday evening, according to the NYPD.
Emergency personnel rushed to East 151st Street and Gerard Avenue just after 6 p.m.
Investigators say the 70-year-old man was shot in the hand while the 65-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. Paramedics took both victims to Lincoln Hospital where they are expected to recover, according to police.
Back at the scene, News 12 cameras observed multiple shell-casing markers in the street. Officers stood on all four corners of the intersection – including in front of a deli – as they worked to figure out what sparked the violent incident.
Sources close to the investigation say police are searching for two alleged assailants who took off in a gray Honda Civic after the shooting, driving southbound on Walton Avenue.
Information about a motive – and if the men were the shooters intended targets – was not immediately known.
No arrests had been made as of Sunday evening.
