Arcadia, N.Y. — New York State Police said a motorcyclist was killed in a crash early Sunday in Wayne County.
Troopers responded to Wood Lane just outside the village of Newark around 12:25 a.m. for a report of a single-vehicle motorcycle crash. Police said the motorcycle was westbound when it went off the north side of the road and entered a ditch.
The operator, a 17-year-old boy, was found in a tree line near the crash scene. Police said first responders attempted life-saving measures before taking the teen to Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The boy’s name has not been released. Police said the crash remains under investigation.
