Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) will close on Broadway, playing its final performance at the Longacre Theatre on November 29. At the time of closing, it will have played 449 total performances.

Following multiple acclaimed London runs, Two Strangers made its Broadway debut in October 2025 and earned eight Tony Award nominations, including for Best Musical, in May. The show stars Sam Tutty, who has been with the show since its first U.K. run, and Christiani Pitts, who joined for the musical’s pre-Broadway run in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Both were Tony-nominated.

Tutty and Pitts play Dougal and Robin, an excitable Brit and a no-nonsense New Yorker who connect while running pre-wedding errands that turn into a 48-hour citywide adventure. New York Theatre Guide’s critic called Two Strangers “a sweet love letter to rom-coms and NYC.”

Jim Barne and Kit Buchan wrote the musical’s book, music, and lyrics, and Tim Jackson directed and choreographed. All three were nominated for Tony Awards and, alongside Tutty, made their Broadway debuts with the show.
