UTICA, N.Y. — Bartenders from across Central New York showed off their Guinness-pouring skills in a spirited competition.
Eleven local bartenders competed in the final round of the fifth annual Best Guinness Pour competition at Five Points Public House and Events Center on Columbia Street in Utica.
This year’s event featured the theme “Pints for Puppies,” with funds raised going to Anita’s Stevens Swan Humane Society, the Herkimer County Humane Society and the Rome Humane Society.
Participants were judged by a panel of celebrity judges on their ability to pour three different drinks.
“The bartenders have to pour three different drinks. They have to pour a perfect pint, they have to pour a perfect half-n-half, and they have to pour a shamrock. They have to etch a shamrock in the Guinness,” Patrick Kealy, chairman for the Best Guinness Pour in Central New York, said.
Jessica Kingsley from The Bunker won this year’s Best Guinness Pour, while second place went to Carter Klumbach, also from The Bunker.
