This weekend, the streets of Manhattan will transform into a vibrant display of Mexican heritage. The 32nd Annual Mexican Day Parade NYC is officially back, and it is bringing a massive celebration to the heart of the city.
As we transition into the autumn season, these large-scale neighborhood shutdowns are the perfect excuse to get outside, enjoy the weather, and explore everything our community has to offer.
A legacy of culture and community

Founded in 1994, this beloved event has been a massive annual celebration for over three decades. It honors Mexican Independence Day while highlighting the incredible contributions of New Yorkers of Mexican heritage.
Traditionally held on the third Sunday of September, the parade is a beautiful showcase of music, dance, art, family, and community. The organizers welcome New Yorkers of absolutely every background to join in. It’s a shared celebration of culture, inclusion, and civic unity that you simply can’t miss.
The parade route and street closures
If you are traveling through Midtown or making weekend plans, be prepared for some major multi-street closures. The parade will completely take over a massive 11-block stretch of Madison Avenue.
The step-off officially begins at Madison Avenue and East 38th Street. From there, the vibrant procession will head south, shutting down the avenue to vehicle traffic all the way down to East 27th Street.
