Queens Of The Stone Age have announced their ninth studio album, Perfecth, arriving October 30th via Matador Records, and have shared the new single “Insignificant Other.”

The announcement marks the latest chapter in the evolution of one of alternative rock’s most distinctive bands. According to the band, Perfecth embraces the provocative, surreal and often absurd qualities that have long defined Queens Of The Stone Age, while exploring different forms of love, loss and connection.

“Insignificant Other” is the second of only two takes of the song and finds the band playing with an intentionally loose and unguarded chemistry.

Frontman Joshua Homme states:

“It’s a song about distance. About how someone can be your entire world only to simply vanish. And about the strange vertigo of being on the receiving end of that.”

The album announcement is also accompanied by a new Chapman Baehler-directed video starring Big Chongus, who serves as the embodiment of “perfecth.” The video also features Ruby Homme, Max Homme, Pumpkin Van Leeuwen, Isabella Puppolini “Izzy” Van Leeuwen and Reesa Shuman.

The release follows the band’s previously unveiled single “Easy Street,” featuring Nikki Lane, which debuted live during Queens Of The Stone Age’s 2025 “Catacombs Tour.” The song marked the group’s first new music following their 2023 album In Times New Roman….

Produced by Homme and bandmate Michael Shuman, Perfecth consists of nine songs recorded during sessions spanning locations from New Orleans to Los Angeles.

The album’s central philosophy draws inspiration from kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. Rather than hiding the cracks, kintsugi emphasizes them, turning damage into part of an object’s beauty.

That idea became central to the making of Perfecth, with Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita and Jon Theodore taking what the band describes as significant evolutionary steps as a collective.

Homme explains:

“Every song sounds like it’s from a different world. And that’s on purpose, because it’s trying to stitch together all these emotions revolving around love, lust, foolishness, and the sort of wisdom that comes as a gift from all that.”

The album title itself is a deliberate corruption of the word “perfect.”

Homme says:

“Nothing in this world is perfect, but everything seems to be ‘perfecth.’ And that title is funny when you’re in a group, but it ain’t so funny when you’re alone.”

Perfecth will be released on CD and standard black vinyl, with a clear-vinyl edition available through independent retailers.

A limited deluxe edition will also be available exclusively through the Queens Of The Stone Age online store and Matador Records.

The deluxe gatefold LP package includes handwritten lyrics, stationery and “stamps” housed inside a custom envelope, along with a bespoke piece of artwork temporarily housed in a custom 10-inch pocket.

The band has also announced fall headline dates in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Singapore, with additional 2027 headline shows expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Queens Of The Stone Age will resume their North American stadium run with Foo Fighters on September 15th before heading overseas for headline dates later this year.
